Best Practices
Ok, so this morning I am tempted to write about some best practices, but not because that is truly what I enjoy doing. Rather, it is because during the course of my regular weekday morning routine, I read headlines on internet news sources for things like CRM and Sales Force Automation. What is intriguing to me is that companies will spend time and resources putting out press releases via some of the big internet news wire services such as: MarketWire, BusinessWire, and PR Web, yet they don’t make plans to include the same Press Release or even an article about the “news” on their own websites. Part of the standard format for an internet Press Release is to have links back to the company website(s) for “more information.” Yet, in every case this morning (5 times), I have been unable to to find any information on their websites with regards to what the Press Releases are about. That to me is a terrible waste of an opportunity as well as resources. The worst part, is that these are the companies that are supposedly helping to automate marketing and customer relationships. Now, how does that work?
