Centive Appoints John Pavlov to Added Post of Chief Technology Officer
BURLINGTON, Mass., July 25, 2005 - Centive, the leader in on-demand sales compensation management, today announced the promotion of John Pavlov to the additional position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Pavlov joined Centive in 2004 as vice president of engineering, and led the development and launch in May 2005 of the industry’s first on-demand sales compensation solution; Centive CompelTM.
In his new position, Pavlov will govern the overall technology focus of the company. In addition to continued development of Compel, Pavlov is tasked with driving the adoption and further evolution of the company’s successful on-premise solution, Centive/EIM PlatformTM. Pavlov will also continue to manage relationships with technology partners, and lead Centive’s SAS70 compliance initiatives.

Prior to Centive, Pavlov spent four years at online 401(k) provider GoldK Inc., holding the titles of both vice president of engineering and CTO. He also worked for Interleaf and Putnam Investments in a variety of managerial roles, and is the co-founder of OpenSoftWorks, which was acquired by FlexiInternational Software.
Pavlov graduated from Massachusetts State with a B.S. in Computer Science and is involved in numerous professional groups, including the Boston Chapter of the Technology Leadership Council, W3C Advisory Committee, IEEE Computer Society, Brown University Venture Forum, the Association for Computing Machinery and Object Management Group. Additionally, he holds a patent for a process to convert a Microsoft Word document into an XML file — Serial No. 09/528,489.
